FAQ

How many hours of daylight do the fittings need to operate at their peak performance?

The Bollard should be placed in direct sunlight with no shading what so ever. The system has been designed to run up to 13 hours with 3.5 hours peak sunlight to recharge comfortably to full output. This Design is 30% more efficient than the previous version. It will still run outside this parameter with lower light levels.

What happens if there is no sun? Just heavy cloud cover. Will they still work?

The solar panels charge by what is called irradiation (treatment with, or exposure to, any form of radiation) Radiation is different to sunlight, so yes they will still charge.

How bright are the Solar Lights?

Approximately 26 Lumen or we have achieved 100lux at the dome surface with a light meter.

Testimonials

The District Council of Mount Barker, characterised by picturesque countryside, bustling townships and sleepy hamlets. Situated in the Mount Lofty Ranges and only 30 minutes away from the capital of South Australia, Adelaide.

The District Council of Mount Barker is one of the fastest growing councils in Australia offering outstanding lifestyle and business opportunities within a diverse and progressive community.

Council has been searching for an efficient and  effective lighting system for its parks , gardens and shared pathways for many years.

One of the main issues encountered with current lighting systems is the reliance on 240 volt power supply which in some instances is cost prohibitive to utilise.

Vandalism is one of the major problems encountered with park lighting  currently.

When shown the Exlites Solar Bollard Lights there was a high degree of scepticism towards them especially in their ability to withstand sustained vandal attack. .

Several lights were installed in council parks and council staff were asked to destroy them with what ever they could find. The lights took all that was thrown at them and more and to our amazement continued working without any adverse effects,  they were simply outstanding with their strength , durability and intensity of light at a  reasonable cost.

The Exlites Solar Bollard Light is now the preferred light for lighting of public walkways, parks and gardens and are now considered a vital part of our landscape .

The reduction in Councils lighting maintenance costs have been significant and I would have no hesitation in recommending the Exlites Solar Bollard Light to any organisation seeking an efficient lighting alternative for public walkways and gardens.
